Rules of Play

Equipment
Beans: The BeanHole Game (TM) contains two scoring boards and two sets of three bags (each set are different colors and/or patterns). Rules of play are also provided.

Object of Game
The game can either be played (individually) with two people or a set (team) of two people. The game is more challenging with the later. Players must reach the score of 21 first by using the bean bags and the scoring board. By using the bags and the scoring board you reach the score of 21 by either throwing the bags onto the board for one point or into the hole for three. Teams are on the honor system when tallying points!

The game in action!

Start of Play
First, place the boards approximately 25 to 30 feet opposite of each other. The game boards do not have to be that far apart but it does make the game the ideal length. Now, using a partner, pick your color bags and the side you want (you will throw across to your teammate as well as the opponent). The team will alternate throws between player and opponent. You continue this until all of the bean bags are thrown, making a round. Now the other side (round). Teams continue this until you reach 21.

Winning the game
The object is to reach 21, but you can cancel out other opponents within the same round: i.e. if your teammate throws and scores, the opponent then can do the same canceling the score. You can also "block the hole" with your bag and "knocking off" your opponents "beans" is allowed.

Great for couples or groups!

Notes on the game
Any one bag that falls off the board during play does not count. If the bag should still be on the board but is touching the ground, the point does not count.

If your bag is bordering on falling into the hole and your opponent / teammate throws and knocks the bag in, that bag counts as three points. The 5 second rule applies here.

A player who should "bounce" a bag on the ground first then onto the board, the play (point) will count.

If you or your opponent should go past the end of the board when you release the bag, the bag will not count and you cannot re-throw the bag.

There is no certain way to "throw" the beans. For the best results, a underhand toss with a high arch is the best. We suggest putting a "spin on the bag" or the "Knuckle ball method."

Enjoy!
